Men Should Be Hugely Offended by the term “She was asking for it,” Not Embracing the Idea that they are Cavemen

Why aren’t more men up in arms when women are blamed for their own rapes? The implication is that women must be responsible because men are unable to control themselves and it is useless to ask them. That’s why there is no analogous expression for females to “boys will be boys.” In a way, “she was asking for it” is an incredibly powerful idea for women because it says women can control themselves and men. Yes, women are devastated to hear they were responsible for their own attacks but there is a hard truth that makes “she was asking for it” a reassuring statement. To be continued…
