The scary side of sexuality that gives women a reason to hope when they hear “she was asking for it”

My interviews with women revealed that it is normal for women to experience multiple rapes. Many women can write lists of sexual assaults endured. Rape does not necessarily happen just once in a woman’s life. I don’t mean long-term abuse from a single person but unrelated events involving different people at different times of life. A first time victim might take heart in learning something she may very well need to apply. Sigh. To me, being entirely powerless is horrible in a world where we are so vulnerable so much of the time.
