
Addicts see reality through the distorting blinders of addiction. Addicts lie a lot, bc they won’t be able to do what they must do if people know the truth, but often addicts say what they honestly believe to be true, i.e., “this time I will do things differently.” Addicts don’t lie as often as you might think but that doesn’t make us honest.

We can also be addicted to surprising things. I don’t think anyone in this world escapes addiction to one thing or another. It’s just a matter of type and degree.
