Can A Blog About Sex Workers Be As Successful as The Office?

A SNAPSHOT OF YEAR’S END 2020, 10:00P.M. HONOLULU, HAWAII, SINGLE WOMAN WITH PET CAT DURING A PANDEMIC WHEN GOALS ARE FAINT AND FUZZY BUT HOPE LIVES WHEN COMEDIAN STEVE CARELL IS ON TV

Yes, this blog about Sex Workers and related issues–which results in all of life being open as a a topic–this blog can be as successful as The Office.  The Office is a comedy that was on television in the 1990’s for 9 seasons.  It is now on Netflix where it is extremely popular with an age group that was not yet born.  What a surprise, an unanticipated result. To me, this kind of unpredictability is one of the things that makes life worth living.  I will continue to post my thoughts, observations about Everything Red Life Hawaii, and I do so with the firm belief that unanticipated events can bring about amazing success. I’ve got nothing against predictable success, by the way.

I’m just totally stoked about successfully hooking up the 50″ tv that I got for $50 on Facebook Marketplace to my laptop.  Now I am playing Netflix because I refuse to pay thousands of dollars a year for cable and I don’t have to correct antenna to pick up local television stations for free (other than the cost of the antenna.) This is a date in the technological life during a Pandemic. I can pretend I’m not out doing something amazing because I am being cautious and contributing to the health of my community by limiting outings.  I would never, under ordinary circumstances be watching Netflix when I could be partying up while rock climbing after a day of hang gliding. (I am being ironic. Due to the Pandemic I don’t have to feel embarrassed about staying in the way I would have back when I imagined other people had amazing, active lives I could barely imagine.)

My life now does not feel wildly successful. Like many others I feel my life was interrupted and my course rendered totally off track.  I was doing something, for which I was just licensed. The virus shut that down my something, and now I am not doing much more than the projects i invent for myself. But as I write this blog post, with one eye on The Office, I believe I can have the future success that The Office has, right now.
